Nick and Laura first began working internationally when they moved to the amazing archipelago nation of Indonesia in 1990 where they served as Field Staff from Cole Community. There, Nick worked in the field of relief and development, participating and aiding in many of the natural disasters that occurred over the 20 some years of our living there. He also worked alongside six Christian denominations by encouraging and equipping the local church to serve their communities and love their neighbors, especially the marginalized and poor among them, regardless of religious or ethnic background. Laura worked as a teacher and principal at the International Christian School, Mountainview IS, where both of their children attended and graduated. In 2013, they left the international field and came back to Boise, Idaho where the desire to serve and work among international people was still strong. Out of this desire, the Lord put on their hearts to work with people who have come to Boise as refugees by helping to form friendships between the new to Boise families with families from the local body of Boise. Glocal Community Partners Ministry was formed and is part of the local outreach of Cole Community Church!
Laura and Nick have two grown children, Annaliese and Lukas. They enjoy being outside, hiking, walking or working in the yard. While they love being back in the beauty of Idaho, they do wish it was not land locked so that they could visit the ocean, another favorite place on earth.

It is now her calling and privilege to serve the body at Cole Community Church by leading songs and prayers that take us into His throne room. Her primary responsibilities are planning and leading the music and flow of the Sunday morning worship services. With much joy she oversees the vocal, instrumental, technical and creative arts ministries. Adrianne sings, plays piano and most recently, guitar. Adrianne is married to Mark, who plays electric and stand up bass. They have two married children and four adorable granddaughters. Her son Tom, heads up the Audio ministry and her daughter Grace, sings in the choir. Her son-in-law, Josh Cramer, is the Small Groups and Cole Biblical Studies Center Pastor. Asher, his wife Pam, and their adult daughter, Hilary, moved together from Portland, OR. Asher loves to travel, get out and explore; hiking with his camera capturing God’s creation. He loves sports and cheering for his ‘Boys’ the Dallas Cowboys!
Area of Ministry: Children’s Ministries
Valerie and her husband, Greg, have attended Cole since moving from Montana in 1989. Her first experience with Sunday School came in 1991 when God nudged her into teaching a summer class of two year olds. As a graduate from Montana State University with a degree in marketing, working with children wasn’t anything on her radar! Several years later, God brought her back to teaching with her son’s four year-olds’ class, followed by seven years of teaching two year olds…her niche! During that time she also served as a Sunday School Coordinator and as a Bible Study Fellowship Children’s Leader. In 1999 and 2000, Valerie traveled to Kazahkstan and England respectively to help with the children’s programs for Frontier Missions’ missionary conferences. In 2002, she became involved with the Women’s Ministry, serving on the Women’s Conference team as Registration Coordinator for two years and Conference Coordinator for three years.
Greg and Valerie have two adult sons and are adapting to the empty-nest stage of life. Valerie enjoys spending her time hanging out with family and friends, playing the piano, fishing and going to stock car races.
Valerie’s heart for the Children’s Ministry is that kids will come to know that the Bible is true, God does exist, Jesus desires to have a personal relationship with them and the Holy Spirit will transform them. Recognizing that parents are to be the primary spiritual teachers of their children, her focus is also on how parents can be equipped for the training of their kids. And for all that serve in the Children’s Ministry, Valerie’s desire is that they will grow in their dependence upon the Lord through their service, they will see God’s hand at work in all they do and that their socks will be blessed off with joy from loving and leading kids to Jesus!
Area of Ministry: Women’s Ministries
Yvette came to the Treasure Valley to attend Boise State University in 1980 and promptly fell in love with Boise! She was blessed to meet Jesus as her Lord and Savior while at BSU, as well as her husband, Steve. While attending college, she became involved in the college ministry of Cole Community Church and began attending church here at that time.
After graduating from college, she decided to pursue further ministry and enrolled in the Cole Center for Biblical Studies. During that time she served as an intern with the BSU ministry mentoring young women, leading Bible studies and helping the student leadership team. She and Steve married in 1991 and began their family soon after. Yvette feels blessed to have been able to stay home with her children, Avery and Abby, during their early years.
After their children started school, she began work as the ministry assistant to the youth pastor for 2 years before transitioning to women’s ministry. She enjoyed 5 years working with the Women’s Pastors and the Women’s Night Out team before God asked her to take a position at Cole Valley Christian Junior/Senior High School. Finally, after 6 years there, God called her back to Women’s Ministry to share the pastoral position with Mary Ann Porter.
Vacations take the Westendorf family to two of their favorite places: Ponderosa State Park in McCall, and beautiful Redfish Lake in Stanley. Biking, reading and Dutch oven cooking make the time away fun, relaxing and delicious! If you find yourself in the area, stop by for dessert and some homemade ice cream!
Now that both of their children attend BSU, they are all avid Bronco fans! Go, Bronco Nation!
