Elders Emeritus

"An elder who, because of age or physical disability, retires from the Council of Elders as an elder in good standing, and who has not been disqualified for reasons of character, who has not adopted another church home, shall be designated as an Elder Emeritus and commended to the church as a reservoir of wisdom and godly counsel. Though viewed as one who shepherds in this church, he will no longer serve as a ruling elder as part of the council of elders." Church By-Laws, Article I Section 4.
