Steve has attended Cole since 1985. He started serving as an Elder in 1988 and Church Administrator in 1999. He job-shares the church administrator position with Don Pettinger, together overseeing the financial, facility, and personnel-related areas of the church. He is the designated pastoral staff leader so he joins with individual elders to shepherd the pastoral staff. 

Steve co-leads a growth group with Bret Moehlmann and Stan Grant which provides shepherding opportunities in a small house church.  He also hosts the Sunday morning services on a rotational basis, and meets with other guys one-on-one.

Steve has been married to Elaine for 39 years and they have two children, Lisa (husband, David McLean) and Shelby (husband, Tim George), and grandchildren, Katelyn and Steven McLean and Sam George.   Steve enjoys playing golf, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
