The Inspiration for this Ministry

In Isaiah 58:10, the scriptures teach us, “If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness and your night will become like the noonday.” In Proverbs 22:9, we are taught, “A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.”

The Ministry

Cole Community Church has been blessed with ample property to support a vegetable garden. Through the work of church volunteers, a portion of the Cole Community property is being cultivated for vegetables and will be harvested for distribution to those in need in our body and low income members in our surrounding community.

International Friendship Garden

We are please to announce that adjacent to the King's Garden, we now have 9 families from three countries gardening at Cole Community Church. Represented at the International Friendship Garden are families from Bhutan, Somalia, and Uzbekistan.  If interested in supporting this outreach ministry, please contact Mark VanSkiver at 859-3080.

Correlation with Cole’s Mission and Core Convictions

The King’s Garden Ministry is a direct response to our church mission to live out Ephesians 4:11-13 and specifically to, “Prepare God’s people (equipping the saints) for works of service.” In addition, the King’s Garden Ministry will strive to adhere to three of Cole’s Core Ministry Principles: to be prayer oriented; to be relational; and to be outward focused.
